Connie (Floyd) Hannevold
October 1, 1918 – September 29, 2018

A beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother has passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side. Just 2 days’ shy of her 100th birthday that she would have shared with her grandson, Liam. Connie was born and raised in Boutilier’s Point, daughter of the late Charlie and Annie (Cornelius) Floyd. Survived by her daughter, Audrey Hannevold, St. Margaret’s Bay, grandson Dean (Chanika) Whittier, Windsor, Ontario, granddaughter Andrea (Darrell) Conrad, St. Margaret’s Bay, and her great grandchildren, Liam, Anaya and Evan. Connie is survived by many nieces and nephews whom reside in Canada, USA and Norway. Predeceased by her husband, Halvdan Hannevold of 51 years, brothers Jack (Catherine) Floyd, Malcolm (Eleanor) Floyd, Scott (Ruby) Floyd and sister, Pansy Everett. Connie enjoyed having dinner parties in her home, entertaining family and friends and playing cards. In her later years, Connie was fortunate to travel extensively with her daughter, spending many winters in Florida, traveling to Europe and setting sail on 17 cruises with her daughter where she would be elated to dress up for dinner. She sailed on her last cruise at 98 years old. In her later years, Connie looked forward to going to the Lion’s Club to see friends and play bingo. A very special thank-you to Dr. Maria Lang for her compassionate care, to the palliative care team and the nurses at VON. Our sincerest thanks to Northwood Home Care whom enabled Connie to live at home with her daughter for without them this would not have been possible. Truly, a life well lived. May she rest in peace. You will live on in our heart, in our memories and be with us always. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6, in St. James Anglican Church, Boutilier’s Point, Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Following the committal, everyone is welcome to join the family at the William Black Memorial Hall at 10515 Peggy’s Cove Road, Glen Margaret. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada (website: www.www.muscle.ca) or the Alpha-1 Canada (website: www.alpha1canada.ca).
