Cecilia Anastasia Coolen
Cecilia passed away on December 1, 2019 in her 102nd year. Born in Halifax 9 days before the Halifax Explosion. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Anastasia Power. Cecilia grew up in Sydney and worked many years at St. Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish before moving to Halifax.
Cecilia is survived by her son, Glen (Carolyn) Young, Glace Bay; daughter, Marie (Hughie) MacDougall, Mississauga, ONT.; sister, Theresa Whalen, Sydney; proud granny and Nan to 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; grandson, Glen; sisters, Jessie and Rita; brother, Jim.
A special thanks to the staff at Northwood, Halifax and Cathy and Jon Griggs. Burial will take place on December 6, 2019 in Fox Point. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Northwood, Halifax. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
