Frederick, David E.A (Dave)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Dad on Saturday November 7th, 2020 at the VG, QEII Health Science Center, Halifax.

90, St. Margaret's Bay (born and rise) He was the son of the late Walter and Olive (Boutilier) Frederick. Survived by his daughters, Judith,,Hubley; Deborah (Orville); Tantallon; Connie(Freddie), St. Margaret's Bay; sons, Douglas (Cheryl) Hubley and David (Peggy) booth of St. Margaret's Bay; Brother, Eric (Norma) New Minas; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased with his loving wife which he treasured, Hilda. Son Bruce. Brothers Forrest and Lester. Sisters Mabel and Olive.

The family are forever thankful for the loving care and support from nurse Katie at the VG Palliative Care Unit. Ensuring us the passing journey was as peaceful as it was. To his doctor Shawna Herman for the wonder care over the years. Special thanks to Marsha and Marie for all the great care and being with him.

Over the years Dad worked at the old Marriotts garage, it was home away from home. Dad retired from the Dept of National Defense after 33 years as a carpenter. Over the years, he had the honor to meet the Queen, the Queens mother, Pierre Trudeau and Gerald Regan. Before Dads retirement, he brought farm land-Man, it was a lot of work but lots of fun at the same time. After selling the farm, Dad would always build a camp in different areas for his enjoyments of fishing and hurting. As kids grown up, Dad taught us how to drive, cook on an open fire, build buggies and even how to shoot a gun. Dad would always have a summer thing planned for us either we were building a log cabin, row boats or camping in Cape Breton and we always had to stop for a feed of lobsters. Dad was always willing to help or just be there for his family and friends. He enjoyed company from his family and friends. We, all will truly miss your stories, singing and whistling!

Cremation has been taken place. Due to Covid 19, there will be a Celebration of Life and burial at a later date.

We are very sorry to hear of Uncle Dave’s passing. He was not only a wonderful father he was a good brother to Lester and to his other siblings as well. He and Aunt Hilda were a fun loving team. When we renovated our home Dave was a major part of the building crew and it was a pleasure to see him and chat with him every day for months. There is no way to lessen the sorrow of losing someone you love. Hope it gives you strength to know that others are thinking of you. Warmest Regards, Corinne & Walter Baggs

So many fun times at the Frederick's home when I was a kid growing up in the Bay. Watching Dave talk to his dogs and howling like a wolf with the little beagles. Making them do little tricks, you sure made my day brighter. Thank you for all the advice and thank you for always listening. My heartfelt sympathy to the entire family. Hilda and Dave are together again.

With Love,
Doris Young Poole
