Obituary for David Levi Longard

Of Tantallon, was born in East Chester on June 29, 1942. He was the son of the late Eldred and Marjorie (Drysdale) Longard and lived most of his life in Timberlea.
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce his passing on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. For most of his life, Dave worked as a trucker with Lafarge and the Department of Transportation where he was known for his sense of humor and often enjoyed playing a good trick on his unsuspecting coworkers. Husband, friend and companion to Dorothy, his wife of 52 years, he was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting on the Nine Mile River with his brother Roy. One of his greatest pleasures in life was being with his family, he was always willing to lend a helping hand and was everyone’s “go to” Mr. Fix It. After his retirement, he loved to spend time working in his garden and the grandchildren were always a big part of his plans and excursions; Nanny and Grampy’s house was always their second home.
