Obituary for Dennis Andrew Duggan

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father, husband, brother and son Dennis Duggan, on May 7th 2020, in the palliative care unit 7A VG site QEII Halifax, after a brief struggle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Frank Duggan and the late Vera (Henneberry) Duggan. Dennis spent his life working in sales at London life, Auto Trader and Admiral. He always enjoyed his time at work, whether it be talking to customers, or joking with his coworkers. Always willing to lend a hand, he will be remembered for his sense of humour, and his ability to put a smile on his coworkers faces. Dennis loved cars, and would always be caught watching NASCAR or more notably, driving around his red mustang, which he loved. Dennis also had a great love of animals, and was known to have many pets in his home as well as outside. He will be remembered for having a large bag of peanuts and bird seed to feed the squirrels and birds every morning, and they continuously visited him because of it. Dennis is survived by his life partner Barbara Piercey, Timberlea ; sons Jonathan (Allison) Duggan, East Lahave; Jeremy (Catherine) Duggan, Lewis Lake; grand children Talia Duggan and Adrian Wentzell; siblings Gordie (Rose) Duggan, Lower Sackville ; Danny (Marie) Duggan, New Ross ; Pauline (Tim) Bell, Maitland Ontario; Donna (Allan) Duggan, Williamswood and many other nieces and nephews. Many thanks extended from the family to the Nurses and staff at the chemo and radiation unit at the VG, the palliative care unit and unit 7A at the VG as well as Ronald A Walker Funeral home for after life preparation. Cremation has taken place, and a family celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dennis' name to Hope for wildlife.
