Don Weagle passed away surrounded by his family on December 9, 2018 in the Halifax Infirmary at the age of 57. Don was born June 4, 1961 in Bridgewater, NS. He grew up in Baker Settlement and was the son the late Doran Weagle and Jean (Mansfield) Crouse. Along with his mother Don leaves to grieve his loving and devoted wife Wendy, the three joys of his life, sons Graeme, Scott and Craig, brother David (Elizabeth) Weagle, sisters, Susan Lyons and Sharon (Daren) Mailman, cousin Wayne Wentzell and his nieces and nephews Tammy, Joe, Candise, Christina, Andrew, Meghan, Steven and Kelly along with great nieces and great nephews and the Cooper family. Don also leaves behind many friends both new and old, including special friend Maya. Don was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and coach! His integrity, kindness and compassion made him a man who was loved and admired by many. Don worked diligently for his clients and equally as hard for the youth on his basketball teams. He loved spending his evenings and weekends coaching and mentoring. His passion shone bright and he was recognized with the Provincial Volunteer Award in 2017. Don made an impact on everyone he met and the void left behind will never be filled, but each of you that loved him can carry on his legacy by living as Don did!
A special thank you to the paramedics, doctors, nurses and night nurse Nancy on 7th floor all the people who visited, called and messaged. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. There will be no visitation. A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Saturday, December 15 at 2:30 at St. Luke’s United Church (5374 St Margarets Bay Road), Rev. Joanne McFadden and Rev Annika Sangster officiating, with reception to follow at the church hall. Interment will take place at a later date.
