Obituary for Dorothy Helen Brundage

It is with sadness, we announce the passing of our sister, Dorothy Helen, on January 9, 2022, in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. She was born at home in Spryfield, the middle daughter to the late Sidney and Laura (Drysdale) Kidston. She attended Halifax Vocational School. She worked for thirty years at Sears, where she took her work seriously. In 1962, she married Kenneth (Red) Brundage. Always together, they enjoyed their cottage on Mill Lake, Lunenburg Co., to the point they eventually built their home there. They enjoyed boating and snowmobiling. Later they became trailer owners, and enjoyed parks, and touring the back roads of Northern Nova Scotia. As her interest in owning and showing vintage vehicles grew, she enjoyed attending Antique Car Shows. She was a life member Emmanuel Anglican Church. She loved to knit and crochet, producing many master pieces, always to perfection. Having lived in Spryfield, Hubbards, and Upper Tantallon, upon the death of Red in 2014, she made her home in Melville Heights Retirement Home in Halifax.
She was predeceased by her brother, Gordon, and is survived by her sisters, Eileen (Brian Deceased) Oxner, and Connie (John deceased) Backman, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Emmanuel Church Cemetery Fund, 322 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS, B3R 1V4, or a charity of choice, would be greatly appreciated.
A funeral service and interment will take place in Spring.
