Edmund Thomas (Ted) Dorey
97, died at the QE II Halifax Infirmary on January 18, 2019 with his family by his side. Ted is survived by his children, Allen (Cammie), Margaret Anne Johnson, Elizabeth, Robin (Kathy), Rebecca Dorey and daughter in law Martha Dorey. He was a proud Granddad to 11 grand children and Great Granddad to 10 great grand children, to some he was known as ‘Big Ted’.He was predeceased by Dot his wife of 73 years, brothers Forest and Laurie, sons Thomas and Stephen and son in law Malcolm Johnson. Although he couldn’t tend to them over the past few years like he used to, Ted’s love of nature was evident in his beautiful flower gardens he meticulously groomed over the years. He also took pride in the final development of Allen Heights subdivision. Cremation has taken place, In keeping with Dad's wishes there will be a private family graveside committal held at a later date. Donations can be made to charity of choice, QE II foundation, or Veterans Memorial Garden, Camp Hill. The family would like to thank the QE II emergency room nurses and physicians. Thank you to Dr. Krista Thompson for her care and compassion over the years, Northwood Home Care and VON for their excellent care and to the many neighbours and friends for all their kindness and support.
