Obituary for Gerelynn Hall

Gerelynn Hall

80, of Hackett’s Cove, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 in the QEII Health Sciences Center , Halifax accompanied in her last weeks by her sister in law Barbara Hall and family friend David Jean.
Born in Hackett’s Cove she was the daughter of the late Svend and Rhoda (Boutilier) Michaelsen.
Gerelynn had an accomplished career in Electronic Construction from an early start building rotary phones for MT&T to her retirement from Nautel constructing marine equipment. Upon retirement Geri volunteered in the local food banks and churches. She also loved her time with St Margret’s Bay White Caps.
Geri had a uncanny ability to tell stories educating today’s generation on the history of the area and (the good old days) using your well as a fridge and neighbors trading foods to survive.

Geri’s sense of humor was her quite but strong quality from putting a for sale sign on the sister in laws house as a prank to poking fun in her final days there was always a smile when Geri was near by

Survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Hall and Sarah Hall. Predeceased by her husband, Frederick, sons, Troy and Trevor.

Gerelynns favorite flower was a yellow carnation as she modestly mentioned a common flower for a common lady.
A graveside service will be held 11 am Wednesday, February 10th in St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Hackett’s Cove. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be practiced, and masks are required.
