70, of Halifax, it is with a sad heart we lost John (Jack to his family) on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 with his family by his side after a lengthy illness, in QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. John was a great movie buff of old movies and loved his family history. John had a heart of gold and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. John was always the life of the party, loved to dance and could talk to anyone. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Heather (Slauenwhite); sister, Susan (Joe) Doucette, Karen (Rob) Jack, Donna (Robert) Finlin, JoAnne (Joe) Blanchard, brother, Donald (Janice), Michael, Jim and David (Jo-Anne).
John was predeceased by his parents John and Frances (Sullivan); son, Anthony; daughter, Susan; sister, Janice.
The family will receive visitors 1-2 p.m. Tuesday September 4th and Funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. both in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggys Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. Rev. Brieanna Andrews officiating. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Litters and Critters Animal Rescue where he got his faithful dog Harley.
