Kathleen "Kay" Hartling

December 2, 1940 - April 28, 2023

Kathleen "Kay" Hartling, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2023, in her birthplace of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

She was surrounded by her devoted family, who will remember her for her unwavering love, kindness, and gentle spirit.

Kay is survived by her loving son, Stan Hartling and partner Joan Hagan, and daughter, Dawn Zork. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Taylor Zork, Sam Hartling, and Ben Hartling, as well as her great-grandchildren, Téo Zork-Carlos, Samsen Hartling and Benjamin Hartling II.

Throughout her life, Kay demonstrated remarkable resilience and grace, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm presence and caring nature enriched the lives of her family and friends.

In her final moments, Kay was comforted by the presence of her family, a testament to the strong bonds she forged during her lifetime. As we grieve the loss of this incredible woman, we celebrate her life and cherish the memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in George’s Anglican Church, 6310 Margaret’s Bay Rd, Head of St. Margarets Bay.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kay's memory to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
