Obituary

Marilyn Ruth Julia Manuel
82, of Seabright, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother on Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born in Seabright she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Blanche (Zwicker) Hubley. Marilyn was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, Lexicon, scrabble, listening to country music and singing karaoke. Marilyn also enjoyed her country drives and having an ice cream on her way. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her quick wit, contagious laugh, her beautiful smile and her open-door policy “the tea pot was always on”. Marilyn is survived by her sons, Gary (Barbra), Stillwater Lake; Carlyle (Sarah), Seabright; daughters, Patricia (Gary) Hubley, Seabright; Darlene (Raymond) Boutilier, Beaverbank; grandchildren, Jacquie, Tim, Melanie, Patrick and Kate; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Brayley, Springhill; Doreen (Robert) Hick, Glen Margaret; Janet (David) Stevenson, Mount Uniacke; many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Melburne; sons, Leonard and Richard; brother, Earl Hubley; grandchildren, Jason and Robert Riley. The family will receive visitors 6-9 pm Tuesday, August 20 and funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, both in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Brookside Cemetery, Seabright or charity of choice. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
