Mary Dauphinee
67, Hubbards, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her Husband, Wilfred and two daughters; Sandy and Heidi on Friday, March 22, 2019. Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late John and Mae (Mary McKenna) Stephenson. Mary’s family moved to Halifax and settled in the North End. Mary attended St Pat’s High School, she then moved on to earn a BA with a Major in Economics and History from Mount Saint Vincent University. Mary retired in 2006 from the Province of Nova Scotia as a Labour Relations Manager after 31 years of service. Mary had a zest for life and loved to travel, which she did plenty of over the years visiting various countries. She loved to walk, and could always be found walking the beaches in Hubbards looking for beach glass. Mary will be forever missed and loved by her husband of 36 years Wilfred (Wossie), and her daughters; Sandy (Jamie) Stillwater Lake and Heidi (Stephen) Brookside. Along with three special grandkids Olivia 8, Ben 4, and Jillian 3. She is also survived by sisters Ethel, Colleen (Johnny Mac), Bernadette, Teresa (Tom), Brother Lenoard and Sister in-law Theresa. She is predeceased by her parents John and Mary and Brother Gerry. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27th from 6-9 PM in the Ronald A Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy's Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Thursday, March 28th at 2:00 PM in St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, 18 Scholars Rd, Upper Tantallon. Wilfred and the girls wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses 5A VG, VON, the Palliative care team (Devon), along with family and friends for their support, care and love over the last number of months as Mary fought her battle.
