89, it is with deep sorrow and sadness that the family of Mary announces her passing on Sunday February 12, 2023, at the QEII hospital, with family at her bedside. Born in Halifax to the late Margaret Benjamin (Keigan).

Mary also lovingly known as Momma D or Mrs. D was a fun loving, hard working woman who always had a smile for everyone whether meeting you for the first time on her walks, the metro transit, at a bingo the casino or being a long time friend. She will be remembered for her homemade bread, cookies and pies. Mary was a caring, nurturing, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grand mother, sister, aunt, friend and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

Mary is survived by husband Cyril of 67 years, Beechville; children, Michael, Lakeside; Mary (Rick), Lakeside; Robert (Cindy), Timberlea; Andrew (Cathy), Ontario; Bernadette (Mark), Dartmouth; Stephen (Denise), Hubley; daughter-in-law Gwen, Halifax; grandchildren, Hayley (Mark), Steve (Patsy), Shannon (Wade), Joey, Robbie, Jasmine (Jacob), Nathan (Angie), Stephanie (Andy), Robert, Megan, Sean, Ashia; great-grandchildren - Ethan, Emma, Sophia, Carter, Claire, Isabella, Osker, James, Quinn, Mary, Allison, Bennett, David; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sons Cyril, Eddie; grandson Jason; sister Dot Beaver; in-laws Mary & Edward Dockrill; Marie & Jim Sweeney; Ron & Dot Dockrill.

The family would like to thank Mom's caring nurses on 6.2 of the QEII, her past family doctor Dr. Peter Petropolis, and more recent Amanda Cleveland, NP. Along with her homecare workers from GAP who provided such loving care. As well as neighbors, friends always looking out for her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia in memory of her son Eddie or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life followed by a reception will be held Tuesday, February 21 at 11 am in the Ronald A Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Rd., Upper Tantallon, NS Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
