It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew Sydney Young, age 39, on the 10th of March 2022 at his home in Halifax. Born in Halifax May 28, 1982, he was the son of Linda Rouillard (Covey) and Dale Young. Matthew loved the outdoors, animals, fishing, and cooking. He was a very talented and imaginative chef who loved to cook for his family. He was the happiest when outdoors in nature. He was predeceased by his grandfather Peter Covey. He is survived by his mother and father, his former spouse Jennifer Young (Kilbride), his stepfather Sylvain Rouillard, his sister Tamara Young and her partner Sam Howard, his half brother Brian Young, his stepsisters Stephanie, Alice and Maryann Rouillard, his grandmother Marilyn Burns and step-grandfather Ron Murphy, his aunt Wendy Williston (Covey) and partner Gary Patterson, uncle Glen Williston, his cousins Danielle and Annette Williston and many others from his personal and extended families. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at Ronald A.
