Obituary for Michael Wayne Jollimore

Michael Wayne Jollimore

69 yrs, It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dad, Michael “Mikey” Jollimore of Mill Cove, NS on February 11, 2023.

He will be remembered, loved, and missed by his children, Nicole (Jorge), Mark, Ben (Sydney); brothers Wilson (Karen), Lloyd (Joey); sister, Debbie, former wife Wendy, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and our family puppy Gracie.

Predeceased by his parents, Wilson Jollimore and Helen Young; brothers Reggie, Robert, and Donnie.

Mikey enjoyed a lifelong career as a fisherman- working just as hard as all of the young guys right up until his passing. He loved being on the water and could always be found fishing on the wharf, at the lake, or out on his little boat- filled with as many fish as he could fit. Many will fondly remember seeing him touring around the community on his four-wheeler.

Mikey will be remembered by his incredible work ethic and generosity. He was known to never sit still. He kept himself busy with work, chopping down wood, plowing and shoveling for his neighbors, sharing the fruits of his garden, and enjoying poker nights. We will miss his fish cakes, chowders, corned beef and cabbage, and turkey dinners. He took great pride in the home he built and maintained for his family. He was, and is, incredibly proud of his children and all of their successes.

A funeral service will be held on 11 am Saturday, February 18, 2023 in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Family flowers only. In remembrance of Mikey’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Hubbards Volunteer Fire Department.
