Obituary for Michael Edward Morash

Michael Edward Morash
Age 73 of Peggy’s Cove. It is with broken hearts we share with you our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away at home surrounded by family and close friends on Wednesday, August 21st. Born in Peggy’s Cove, he was the son of the late Eddie and Edith (Crooks) Morash. He was a fisherman all his life and truly loved being on the water. Michael enjoyed spending his evenings in the loft playing cards with the men and the “Captain”, and Sunday drives with his wife. While he was a quiet man, he loved to tease and his sense of humour and larger than life laugh will be missed by many. Peggy’s Cove has lost one of its’ own! He is survived by his wife of 53 years Judith (Hubley), daughter Denise (Raymond), grandchildren Emily (Jordan) and Jack (Jocelyn), brothers Stephen, Nicky (Heather), Eric (Lynn) and many brothers and sisters-in law, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister Mary Elizabeth MacDonald, brother-in-law Dan MacDonald, and best friend Graham Fralick. Specials thanks to Dr. James McLean, Meghan MacIntosh, Dr. Daniel Rayson, Dr. Kim Anderson, VON (Reenie and Sarah), Palliative Care, and all of the caring staff at the South Shore Regional and QEII hospitals. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service at his request. A Celebration of Life will be held at his home, 25 Church Road in Peggy’s Cove on Saturday, August 31st, 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VON Halifax or a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the care of the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Upper Tantallon.
