Condolences

Condolence From: Lynn McHugh
Condolence: Michael & Marion were my sister's godparents, but they were careful to treat us each as treasured individuals throughout our childhood. We had many happy times in their apartment in the city, reveling in their creative lives. Michael shared so much of his humor and wit through art and I will always remember his disarming smile and gentle ways. We were very fortunate to have both of them in our lives.

Condolence: I am very sorry to hear of Michael's passing. My deepest sympathy to all the family. Michael and Marion were my neighbours at Cawthra Mansions in Toronto for many years. Michael was instrumental in the conversion of our apartment building into a co-operative and he became its first President. The co-op celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2016 so his legacy continues. When Michael and Marion moved to Halifax I joined them on many summer vacations, including trips to Grand Manan, Cape Breton and Newfoundland. I will always treasure those happy memories. The three of us shared a love of art, nature and books and I learned so much from both of them. Michael was a very creative, clever man and a gentle soul who gave much of himself to others and was loved by many. I have missed him in recent years and will continue to miss him. I will always be grateful for his friendship.

Condolence: We will miss Michael, his stories and his contributions. A print of one of his artworks adorns many of our offices. Our condolences to his family and friends that provided him love, comfort and kept him engaged in his love of art. Linda Bird

Condolence: Missing a sweet gentle man who made a huge difference in the lives of so many. Michael was kind, very funny, and completely non-judgmental of all he met. He performed so many kindnesses, many of which went unnoticed by all except the one receiving his kindness. He held the door open for everyone through his belief that art could provide a path forward to anyone who was seeking healing. I especially loved the way he saw humour in the simplest and loveliest things. A beautiful person who lived life well and purposefully.

Condolence: I want to give you my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Michael Seary. He was a great man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him during his time at Veith Street Gallery, as founder of its art group Creative Spirit East, which allowed artists with disabilities a forum to showcase/sell their art.
