Obituary for Mona Blanche Dorey

Mona B. Dorey

83 of Boutilier’s Point, N.S. passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Minnie (Langille) Boutilier. She is survived by her children, Charles (Bonnie), Windsor Road; Margaret Hazelden, Boutilier’s Point; Linda (Victor) Schwartz, Hubbards; Kenneth (Rita), Harrietsfield; daughter-in-law Brenda; grandchildren, David, Wanda Lee, Jason, Kelly, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Jim as well as ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Ralph; son Robert, brothers Cyril, Murray, Warren and Eric and sisters Ella, Vera, Evelyn, Marion, Prena, Katherine, Lillian, Iona and Florence and son in law David Dobson.

Mona lived a simple and beautiful life. Though not without struggles, she had an admirable resilience. She met and married her husband Ralph at a young age, and together they dedicated their lives to their five beautiful children, and big extended family, passing down their skills and knowledge through shared experience.
Their love inspired many during the 64 years of marriage they had together. Their house was small but full of love. Food was always ready for anyone who needed a meal, and the door was always open for anyone who needed a friend. Smiles, laughter, hugs, and celebrations were always abundant, as nourishing her family in body and in heart was Mona's favorite pastime.

What Mona put out into the world in kindness, she saw returned to her with the same warmth.
The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind.

A service to commemorate the life of Mona as well as her husband Ralph who passed away on Feb. 1, 2020 will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, April 25th at the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home in Hubbards.
A private family committal will take place at a later date.

The family would like to Thank Dr. Reza, staff of the Emergency room of South Shore Regional Hospital and 6-1 and 6-4 of the QE II Hospital for their compassionate care of Mona during her time there.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. James Anglican Church, Boutilier’s Point., N.S.
