Obituary for Reginald Albert Morash

Reginald Albert Morash

Reg died peacefully in the QEIl Infirmary on Nov. 16, 2022. He was born on Sept. 23, 1944, son of the late Cyril and Lexie Morash, West Dover. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Clare (Boutilier) Morash; son Mark (Barbara Hubley); niece Amanda (Scott) Parsons; nephews, Wayne ( Brenda) Morash, and Jeffery Conboy; sister in-laws, Betty Morse and Patti Boutilier, and many niece and nephew in-laws. He was predeceased by his brother David, sister Betty Andrews, mother and father in-law, Stella and Wellesley Boutilier, sister-in-law Janet (David) Shaw, and brother-in-law, Dennis Boutilier.
Reg had many wonderful people in his life like neighbour and special niece, Kathleen Boutilier, cousins Alex and Gizzle Morash, friends Vi and Bill Watson and Cody.

Reg started working for C. W. Stone Ltd. when he was a teenager learning the ropes, literally, to become a steeplejack. He worked his way up (no pun intended) to become manager. He also worked at Chase Masonry and Coastal Restoration & Masonry meeting many people along the way. He had a phenomenal memory for names and faces so once he met someone he knew them forever. He had many friends and he made sure he stayed in contact with them. He was a story teller and as a member of the former Red Fox Liars Club, believed truth could be stretched. He loved life especially if it included road trips, cooking his signature dinners, card games, yard work, woodworking, visiting and phoning friends.

Although he gave up cigarettes and rum years ago they probably caused many of his health issues that were limiting his ability to do the things he loved but he was very proud of our Hacketts Cove property and worked on maintaining a beautiful lawn right up to the day before he went to the hospital. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by many.
Thanks to the members of all the teams on 8.2 and 8.4 of the Halifax lnfirmary for their compassion and care.
