Obituary for Robin Christopher John Sampson

Robin Christopher John Sampson, 78, of Head of St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia, passed away unexpectedly in his home on December 25th. He was awaking for Christmas day when he was called home to the Lord.

Robin graduated from Carlton University with a degree in Science and went on to have a successful career in water quality research and management, first with the Canadian Center for Inland Waters and then later as a consultant. In his spare time he enjoyed sharing his days with his wife and family and caring for his dogs. During his retirement, Robin was always just as busy as when he was at work. He valued having the time to work on his home, exercise his creativity in the kitchen and enjoy some of his favorite activities, reading, enjoying his favorite movies, especially James Bond and playing billiards.

He was a kind and loving partner to his spouse of 57 years Denise, as well as an amazing father to their son Sean and their daughter Michelle. Robin lived his life exemplifying the expression “do unto others as you’d have them do unto you”. Always with a positive outlet, even in difficult times, Robin would remind us “And this to shall pass”.
Aside from being survived by his wife, son and daughter, Robin also leaves behind his three loving grand daughters, Tara, Amelia, and Robyn, as well as his caring son in law Jason and his two dogs.

The family will hold a private viewing on Friday and then an open visitation on Wednesday January 4th from 2pm – 4pm at the Ronald Walker Funeral Home 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. Any donations individuals would like to make in Robin’s honor can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
