Obituary for Rosalene Annette Coolen

80, of Halifax, formerly of Fox Point, passed away at home in Halifax on February 3, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Allen and Blanche (McInnis) Harnish. She is survived by sons, Darren (Victoria), Todd, daughter, Krista (Aki), daughter-in-law, Patricia; grandchildren, Shannon, Melina, Brandel and Matthew; sister, Gloria (Elmer) Kline; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Barry, son, Shayne, and brother, Russell. She was a beloved homemaker for most of her life. Having left home at a young age, she had a few odd jobs before getting married. She poured her heart and soul into our family and we left wanting for nothing. She always had a welcoming smile and usually enough food prepared for a small army, even if you just stayed for a coffee. She embraced moving to the big city, going on adventures by bus to the waterfront, Public Gardens or simply out for a burger with Dad. Nothing made her happier than a good feed of lobster! She enjoyed watching The Good Doctor, Ray Donovan and Young & Restless. She loved music, movies and the Royal Family and had an interest in health care. She bought her first *computer* (tablet) at the age of 79, playing her games, but very rarely checking her email. She loved her Word Search books. Mom was well-loved and will be deeply missed. Special thanks to all the Palliative caregivers, VON and Dr. Vihvelin. Special thanks to Daniel Lanois for playing “The Unbreakable Chain” for her at the Marquee in 2008. No visitation as per her request. Funeral service will be held 11a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
