Pinks, Valerie Grace (Tucker)
Seabright, slipped away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, in the QEII hospital surrounded by her loving family following a long and courageous battle with Asthma. Born in Bromley, Kent, England on April 3, 1938, Valerie was the only daughter of the late Henry Parkes and Grace Cecilia (Millet) Tucker. Valerie is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John Richard Pinks, her brother Ian Tucker (Barbara), Dunks Green, Kent, England, sister-in-law, Margaret Hancock, Plymouth, Devon, England and sons Kevin (Elizabeth), Ottawa, Steven (Catherine), Brookside, Clinton (Shannon), Dartmouth, David (Karen), Seabright and John (Laura), Seabright; Grandchildren Erinlee (Benjamin), Halifax, Devon (Jessica), Bayview, Mya (Fabrizio), Ottawa, Cody, Ottawa, Jake, Timberlea, Lucy and Oscar, Dartmouth; Step Grandchildren Amy, Gatineau and Melissa (Mathieu), Ottawa; Greatgrandchild Hudson, Timberlea. Valerie and her husband emigrated from England to Canada in 1964 with two young sons in tow and another on the way. A devoted mother, Valerie raised five sons while John travelled on business, loving each of them unconditionally. Upon his retirement, Valerie joined her husband travelling the world for both business, pleasure and dance instruction. An accomplished social ballroom dancer and teacher herself, Valerie also shopped for shoes and ballroom dresses on every continent in the world. Valerie loved life despite the many health challenges she faced. She was always eager to get together with friends and family to enjoy a meal out or a celebration. Valerie was the center of our world and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of life will be held 11 am Tuesday, August 13 in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggys Cove Road, Upper Tantallon with reception to follow. Family flowers only.
