Vincent Gerald Harnish

88, of Chester, formerly of Mill Cove passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Mill Cove he was the son of the late Percy and Hulda (Jennings) Harnish.
Vincent worked for 37 years as Longshoreman with the Halifax Waterfront retiring in 1992. In the early 60’s Vincent was an active member of the Hubbards Fire Department and also a Warden of St. Marks Anglican Church, Mill Cove and Parish Warden of St. Lukes Parish for many years. Vincent worked as a truck driver for Bobby Harnish and Seldon Miller travelling to Boston often.

Survived by his son, Rick; brothers, Edson (Shirley); Tyrill; sisters, Linda, Elva (Mack) Coolen and Geraldine Publicover; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Edna and a number of sisters.

The family will receive visitors 4-6 p.m. Wednesday March 24th in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. A graveside service will be held 11 am Friday, March 26 in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Fox Point. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be practiced, and masks are required.
