Obituary for Virginia Belle Boutilier

Virginia Belle Boutilier, 102, of Seabright, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Detroit, USA, she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Jennie Mae (MacLachlan) Boutilier. Virginia (lovingly known as Booey to family), is survived by her sister, Eleanor Covey, Seabright; nieces, Beverley Robertson, Halifax; Linda Burrows, Seabright; Louise (John) Hawkins, Fall River; and many extended nieces and nephews. Special thanks for the love and support of her dear friends: Margaret Ardenne, Bill and Muriel Hale, and Margaret Sullivan. She was predeceased by her brother, Warren “Bus”; sisters, Mildred Bailly, Joyce Burchell; and niece, Donna Mae Burchell. After a career in management with Sears, Booey retired to her Seabright home thirty-eight years ago, but her love of travel took her cruising to Alaska, sun-bathing in the Caribbean, and bus-touring with her seniors’ group, the White Caps. She even once drove to St. John’s, Nfld with a group of runners carrying the Peace Torch. A devote member of the United Church, she lived a principled, generous life full of wholesome food and a card for every occasion. Visitation 7-9 Thursday, June 20th in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 in the William Black Memorial Church, Glen Margaret, Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery, Seabright. Donations to William Black Memorial Church will be gratefully accepted. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
