73, of Glen Haven passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Ottawa she was the daughter of the late Alton and Vera (Helman) Burton. Judy was born in Ottawa to Alton and Vera Burton on February 13, 1944. She attended the High School of Commerce in Ottawa, ON. Upon graduation she worked with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and then the Province of New Brunswick Civil Service Commission before devoting herself to the care of her three children. Judy enjoyed sailing on Canuck, gardening, following golf and Blue Jays baseball. With a wonderful sense of humour and a contagious gentleness she will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survived by her beloved husband Bruce; son, Gregory, Halifax; daughters, Jody ( Ian) Christmas-Kelly, Milton, ON; Amy, Halifax; grandchildren, Hannah and Tiernan Christmas, Pictou; Sienna Kelly, Milton, ON; sisters, Beverley (Kenneth) Taylor, Toronto, ON; Linda (David) Cryderman, Aylmer, ON. In keeping with Judy's wishes a family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, www.alzheimer.ca Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Geriatric Assessment Progressive Care Unit of the Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building - QEII Health Sciences Centre.
