Obituary for Gertrude Joan Perry

Gertrude Joan Perry
77, of Tantallon. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Gertrude Joan Perry on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving family in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Tantallon, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Ada Mae (Smith) Hills. Mom was a very proud and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it be celebrating special occasions, working on a puzzle or crafts. or watching her grandchildren play in various sporting events. She was an immaculate housekeeper and an avid gardener and could often be found outside tending to her yard. A dedicated hockey and baseball fan, she never missed a Maple Leaf or Blue Jays game on TV and was always eager to talk about the game. She was a member of the St. Margaret's Anglican Church all of her life, serving as both a member of the choir, as well as the ladies' auxiliary. We will miss her dearly and will forever keep her in our hearts. Survived by her daughters, Darlene Duggan, Lakeside; Jamie Hunsley, Seabright; Natalie (Danny) Shires, Halifax; brothers, Donald, Head of St. Margaret’s Bay; Brecken (Linda), Upper Tantallon; Albert (Ginny), Middleton; sister, Bertha Mae (Ken) Slaunwhite, Terence Bay; grandchildren, Gordie, Christopher, Nicholas, Craig and Danielle; great grandchildren, Rachael and Myles.
