“Shirley’’ Sheila Mary Theresa Hughes
75, of Hubley, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Pointe-du-Chêne, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Agnes (LeBlanc) Petitpas. She was an avid birder and quilter, rescued many stray cats, and loved reading mysteries. She stood by her husband William through thick and thin over 55 years. Survived by her husband, William; son, Stephen (Colleen Trim), Hamilton; daughter, Tracy (Stan Drake), North Carolina; brothers; Danny (Sandi) Petitpas, P.E.I.; Tony, Shediac, sisters; Christine (Gerry) Petitpas, Pointe-du-Chêne, Betty Morrissey, Shediac; grandson, Corwin. Predeceased by brothers, Norman and Robert; sisters, Rita and infant Beverley. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 20th in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Rd., Upper Tantallon. A committal service will be held 10 am Tuesday August 21st in the William Black Memorial Cemetery, Glen Margaret.
